Saleem, an elderly psychiatric patient, is partially paralysed and unable or unwilling to speak. When Kamala, a new student nurse, arrives, he begins to respond, encouraged by her gentle reassurance, and their common cultural identity.

On holiday, a young man borrows a pair of binoculars when his own are broken. But they seem somehow bewitched, showing things that could only be seen with dead men's eyes... visions from the past. And using them could lead to a sinister rendezvous on Gallow's Hill.

The village of Salla, population 150, with its own school, ploughed fields and well-maintained homes. This place reflects the culture of the rural folk of Estonia and their everyday activities.

From a Bird's Eye View is a 1970 ATV and ITC Entertainment co-produced sitcom. In the United States it aired on NBC, which had originally ordered the series as an entry in the 1969-70 TV season but pushed it back to the 1970-71 season as a mid-season replacement.The series followed two International Airlines stewardesses, a scatterbrained Briton and a savvy American, as they flew the London-European routes. The series ran for 16 25-minute colour episodes.The series was not a big success in either the UK or the US, but ITC re-used the format for the Shirley MacLaine series Shirley's World. That show also flopped, but ran to one more episode than From a Bird's Eye View.

The main character is a young and very beautiful girl, Marijana. Marijana is 25 and when she was 16, her father's boss sexually abused her. Marijana's father did nothing against his boss, and because of that became very successful at his profession due to the boss' assistance. Marijana's father became a famous discreet gynaecologist for illegal abortions. Ten years after the incident, Marijana's family is very rich and popular in her town of Podgorica. Marijana did not forget what happened to her when she was younger. Marijana decides that it is time to avenge what was done to her. She does this by becoming a prostitute, and sleeping with her father's colleagues and there by harming his reputation. At one moment Marijana meets a poor but talented sculptor named Vanja whom she begins to love and care for. Marijana soon discovers that the world of prostitution and love of Vanja cannot coexist.
